Totally Linked In Tuesdays Featuring Sun 7 Designs

 

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday. I hope you all were able to enjoy a three day weekend with your family. We celebrated my little dude’s 2nd birthday this weekend! I seriously love three day weekends, I can go out and enjoy time with my family AND spend a whole day cleaning and catching up on everything I get behind on while my man snuggled the dudes.

 

This week we are going to be featuring a shop by the name of Sun 7 Designs.

Valery creates the cute-cute-cutest plushy custom embroidered baby blankets to cuddle with your little ones in.

 

Let’s get to know the person behind the business, shall we?

 

So tell us, how did Sun 7 Designs get started?-

I had been designing and sewing baby blankets for several years when I friend suggested that I start selling them.

What inspires you to create?-

Usually my customers who place orders and want something very particular that I have to design for them. I love a challenge and creating something different that cannot be purchased in a store.

Any advice for other business owners?-

Give your business 100% of your time and attention.

That’s great advice. Do you have a favorite social media outlet?-

Facebook seems to work well for me in reaching National customers. When people “like” and “share” your page it reaches out to people that I am unable to reach on my own.

Can you give us a glimpse of what a typical day looks like behind the scenes of Sun 7 Designs?

I check my email first thing in the morning and immediately reply to customer’s questions/orders. After a quick scroll through Facebook I then begin to design my blankets and sew them. I usually spend 4 days a week from 8-4 in my sewing room.

Any good resources that you like to read up on for growing your business?-

I am always scrolling through the internet looking for blogs/books/forums on how to grow my business. Right now I am really enjoying “YouInc.com” and get a lot of good information from them.

What was the BEST feedback you ever received on a product?-

I receive positive feedback on my blankets on a regular basis but I love it when people tell me that their baby will not go to sleep without their blanket that I have designed for them.

What was the biggest obstacle for you to get past in creating and growing your business?-

To not take everything so personally. If someone sends me an email inquiring about purchasing a blanket and this leads to several back & forth emails with several questions and in the end they make the decision not to purchase. I try not to be offended by this.

Seriously! How cute. And… ahem, I have a Parker and I KNOW he would love this blanket. If you have never snuggled in a minkee/minky blanket you are missing out! They are heaven on Earth!
